Current UMBC Student Applicant

Thank you for your interest in the Sherman STEM Teacher Scholars Program!

You will need to complete the Sherman application to be considered as a candidate for the program.  If you have not yet done so, we strongly encourage you to meet with Sherman Program staff person, Mr. Joshua Michael, prior to submitting your application.

Fall Admission: The Sherman application and all supplemental materials are due on April 15th.  After reviewing applications, select candidates will be invited to Sherman Scholar Selection Day, which will take place on Saturday, May 13th.

Spring Admission: The Sherman application and all supplemental materials are due on October 15th.  After reviewing applications, select candidates will be invited to Sherman Scholar Selection Day, which will take place on Saturday, December 9th

The Sherman application includes a personal statement, four brief essays, and two letters of recommendation.  Please also include a copy of your unofficial transcript.

You are also welcome to submit any relevant documents that you believe strengthen your application.  These documents can be submitted as attachments to your application.  Please note, though, that these are supplemental and do not make up for poor essays or vague letters of recommendation.

I’m ready to apply!
